Collectively, the IGC seminars produce the following key learning outcomes:
- Advance understanding of how global challenges interact to form wicked problems requiring trans-disciplinary problem-solving approaches
- Improve understanding & practice of interdisciplinary team science
- Advance understanding & skills to work in the science-policy interface
- Be able to discuss environmental justice & examples
- Improve science communication skills
Topics for the 2nd seminar include:
- Exploring interdisciplinary team science (e.g. interdisciplinary panel discussions about the process, challenges, and benefits of interdisciplinary research)
- Preparation for capstone project
- Defining the science-policy interface
