Interfaces of Global Change Third Semester

Collectively, the IGC seminars produce the following key learning outcomes:

  • Advance understanding of how global challenges interact to form wicked problems requiring trans-disciplinary problem-solving approaches
  • Improve understanding & practice of interdisciplinary team science
  • Advance understanding & skills to work in the science-policy interface
  • Be able to discuss environmental justice & examples
  • Improve science communication skills

Topics for the 3rd seminar include:

  • Career planning
  • Exploration of the science-policy interface (e.g. Discussions with scientists working in the legislative and executive branches of the U.S. government and at NGOs)
  • Science communication (flash talks, capstone projects)
