Collectively, the IGC seminars produce the following key learning outcomes:
- Advance understanding of how global challenges interact to form wicked problems requiring trans-disciplinary problem-solving approaches
- Improve understanding & practice of interdisciplinary team science
- Advance understanding & skills to work in the science-policy interface
- Be able to discuss environmental justice & examples
- Improve science communication skills
Topics for the 3rd seminar include:
- Career planning
- Exploration of the science-policy interface (e.g. Discussions with scientists working in the legislative and executive branches of the U.S. government and at NGOs)
- Science communication (flash talks, capstone projects)
